Autism is a way of being
Autism is a neurological difference — a way a nervous system notices, processes, and moves through the world. It is not a disease, and it is not something a person grows out of.
Acceptance starts by dropping the idea that there is one correct brain. Autistic people are not broken copies of non-autistic people. They are a minority neurotype living in a world designed for a majority one.
That mismatch is where most of the struggle lives: lights that never dim, speech that is treated as the only language, schedules that change without warning, and social rules that are implied rather than said.
Support is not about making someone less autistic. Support is about lowering the load so an autistic person can be themselves without having to spend the day pretending.
