After

When your body is full

When the load is too high, a body might cry, shout, run, or freeze. From the outside it can look like a big feeling for a small reason. From the inside it is often many reasons stacked up.

You are not bad. You are full. The kind next step is less: fewer people, less noise, a known place, time. Lectures can wait.

Later, when the body is back, you can say what would have helped. A grown-up’s job is to change the plan, not to make you sorry for having a nervous system.

Try this

If you can, tell one person what “full” feels like for you — spill, quiet, or both.
